The Regional de Vila Verde is a new group from London specialising in authentic 1910s and 20s-style Brazilian Choro music and comprising five young musicians from the UK and USA led by bandolim player Travis Finch and 7-string guitarist Emily O'Hara who had previously discovered choro music whilst playing together as a duo. To fill out the lineup they recruited three musicians already well-versed in 1920s popular music: Matthew Redman, Simon Marsh and Nicholas D. Ball; naming this new 'Regional' (choro ensemble) after their adopted home of Greenwich in South London (Regional de Vila Verde = the choro group from the Green Village).
