We are a community percussion group that play Brazilian Carnival Rhythms.
If you are interested in finding out just what drumming with a Brazilian samba band is all about, or would like to develop your rhythm and musiclity and meet new and like-minded people then email for more information or visit a practice session at Mrs Howard Hall, in Letchworth on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 pm.
Olá Samba provides school and corporate workshops, weekly sessions and performances. We maintain an 'open door' policy; anyone is welcome to join in at any point. Experience the energy, excitement and power of samba drumming first-hand, and meet great people in the process. When you feel ready, there will be many opportunities for you to perform in the band at the many carnivals, community events, productions and private functions that Olá Samba is invited to. Why not give it a go? You are entitled to a free first session, no strings attached.
Queijo Processado (Processed Cheese) are a group of percussionists with a samba related background who have decided to put their own twist on the samba genre, mixing up a variation of styles and adding some fun to the mix.
We perform Samba, Funk, Samba Reggae, Reggae, Pop, Blues and whatever takes our fancy.
Oxford BOP Samba started in 2003 during the British No War on Iraq campaign. Originally an ad-hoc junk band, we now have a full set of traditional samba percussion drums and a friendly and growing membership. BOP Samba is part of the global Rhythms of Resistance network of activist samba bands.
Founded in January 1998 when members of Manchester School of Samba living in Chorley decided to form Escola de Samba Chorley, becoming SambAfriq in 2003 and Grupo SambAfriq in 2009.
Samba Sol was set up in 1996 as a community project to bring the rhythms and sounds of samba to North Devon. The band performs at Carnivals, Festivals and other events both locally and further afield.
