Breach of the Peace Samba, Oxford

Oxford BOP Samba started in 2003 during the British No War on Iraq campaign. Originally an ad-hoc junk band, we now have a full set of traditional samba percussion drums and a friendly and growing membership. BOP Samba is part of the global Rhythms of Resistance network of activist samba bands.
We meet regularly every Friday night from 7.30–9.30pm at St. Gregory the Great Secondary School (followed by a post-practice trip to one of Oxford's fine hostelries!). No musical experience is necessary, we provide the instruments, just bring your enthusiasm.
We play at festivals, fairs, community events and even Oxford colleges. We have played for many local campaigns, including Save the NHS and Close the Campsfield Detention Centre group. We also join up with other bands in the Rhythms of Resistance network to play at national demos and events including the Stop Climate Chaos march, Stop The War demonstrations, and the Stop the DSEI Arms Fair campaign. .
