Benton Park School Samba

Batucada band of 25 musicians performing locally, nationally and internationally. Variety of rhythms performed. Experience of capoeira and starting to include dance and vocals.

It's a Brazilian Breeze
As usual Leeds' International Breeze Festival came to Benton Park this year with a Brazilian theme. Pupils had the opportunity to get involved in a project that is a fusion of Capeoira, a Brazilian martial art dance, Samba, Makulele and street dance. Inevitably the school's own renowned Samba band was also involved. The festival culminated, for pupils, in a performance at the Carriageworks Theatre, Millennium Square, Leeds on Thursday, 29th June, after putting on shows for pupils in school.
