Batteria Acid are the Brazilian Samba Sound of Warwickshire and of Rugby Samba School.
Rugby Samba School was formed way back in the mists of time somewhere around 1998. With help from various charities and funding organisations, the samba school was able to buy a few basic bits of equipment and started running weekly workshops in Rugby.
Batteria Acid''s workshops are on Thursday nights at the warm and welcoming (and licensed!) Rugby West Indian Association Club in St Peters Road.
We are now an established part of the music scene in and around our home town. Its mix of conventional samba rhythms with reggae, West African and dance beats brings out the sunshine at village fetes and makes the old dance and babies laugh!
